THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ACT NATURALLY (G van Niekerk) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
b)	POLTERGEIST (R Fourie) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	In the concluding stages DANCE VARIETY (JP van der Merwe) shifted in away from the crop and brushed ENSUING (C Orffer) inwards which then had to be steadied away from the heels of KITCHAKAL (B Fayd'Herbe) at the finish. Jockey JP van der Merwe appeared before the Board and was advised to react sooner when his mounts need straightening in similar circumstances.
b)	In view of the performance of MICHAEL FARADAY (A Domeyer), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	USA'S HOPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised. (DD)
