Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STELLA ET CLAVIS (L Mxothwa) was restless and reared in the stalls, was taken out, examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. b) OLIVER (K Matsunyane), which was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths. c) SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (JP van der Merwe) and TWICE TOLD (G Behr) jumped slow, losing one length. d) LORD SAYE (GB) (K de Melo) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m OLIVER (K Matsunyane) was carried out marginally by KEBONALESEDI (S Veale), which rolled out and was immediately straightened. b) At the 300m HAWK CIRCLE (R Fourie) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. c) QUERARI'S DREAM (D Schwarz) was hanging in in the latter stages. d) In view of the report from the starter regarding STELLA ET CLAVIS (L Mxothwa) this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 08/02/2023 to 14/02/2023 inclusive). STELLA ET CLAVIS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) KEBONALESEDI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GR Puller was advised.
