Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	During the loading process UNCLE GEORGE reared and dislodged Jockey J Mphanya on two occasions, was examined by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded, causing a delay.
b)	MO CESAR (K Matsunyane) and ROGUE MALE (T Gould) were stubborn loading.
c)	HOT ICE (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls and thereafter slow into stride.
d)	SHIPS AT SEA (Y Ramzan) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
e)	LE BONHEUR (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	CLAP OF THUNDER (*RA Venniker) was hanging in from the 400m.
b)	Jockey L Mxothwa reported that LE BONHEUR felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c)	In view of the report from the starter regarding UNCLE GEORGE (J Mphanya), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 11/02/2023 to 24/02/2023 inclusive). UNCLE GEORGE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding MO CESAR (K Matsunyane), Trainer K Mitchley will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to its next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
e)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding ROGUE MALE), Trainer PD Wrensch will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f)	EQUESTRIAN AFFAIR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised. (LM)
