THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY IS A CHAMP (A Arries) was restless in the stalls. Was unloaded and examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and re-loaded. Trainer F Robinson was advised to re-school this filly (SN). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) TRIP TO NEBRASKA (K de Melo) over-raced in the early and middle stages, and thereafter was allowed to improve around the field on the latter part of the turn and take up a forward position entering the straight. b) Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with VENETIAN LINK in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of TRIP TO NEBRASKA (K de Melo) (6.50 lengths, 7/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) ROWINS DREAM (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer Craig Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Apprentice S Hlengwa (claiming 2.5kg) was the rider of SALIENT POINT (advised 15.02.23/07h26). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) VENETIAN LINK : Nothing obvious detected. b) TRIP TO NEBRASKA : Not striding out right front. c) SALIENT POINT : Right hind cut into medial fetlock and fatigued. d) LADY IS A CHAMP : Mouth injury.
