Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PROFESSOR SNAPE (C Orffer) and ROSH KEDESH (K de Melo) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, BARDOLINO (L Mxothwa) cast its right front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that RULE OF THUMB took an awkward stride and then felt uncomfortable in its action leaving the 450m. As a consequence, he eased this gelding out of the race. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine.
c)	At the 150m JAM JAM (A Arries) had to be steadied away from the heels of a tiring PAPER TRAIL (J Jacobs), which was carried out marginally by BARDOLINO (L Mxothwa).
d)	In view of the performance of ROSH KEDESH (K de Melo) (Betting 4/1; Distance 8.55) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
e)	INTIMIDATOR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (CvA)
