THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHIZ BANG (A Arries), OLVERSTON (T Godden) and BLITZEN (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start, OLVERSTON (T Godden) and BLITZEN (*S Hlengwa) came together and bumped. This resulted in OLVERSTON (T Godden) becoming unbalanced. b) ONE IRISH ROVER (*R A Venniker) was hanging out from the 200m. c) Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with OLVERSTON in the running and as a result did not persevere with his ride from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) MASTERBLING (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Apprentice S Hlengwa (claiming 2.5kg) was the rider of BLITZEN (advised 20.02.23/09h23). b) OLVERSTON raced equipped with blinkers (advised 22.02.23/07h50).
