THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	GIANTS CASTLE (A Arries) was stubborn, proving difficult to load.
b)	KODIAK ISLAND (C F Dicken) lost 2 lengths.
 
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to GIANTS CASTLE (A Arries), this gelding's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 30 days and until such time as it proves tractable on a race-day with a companion.  Suspension dates: 23.02.23 to the 24.03.23. GIANTS CASTLE may not be presented for re-passing during this period.  Trainer N Kotzen was advised (SN).
b)	SUPER FAST (*S Hlengwa) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
c)	CASH CRUSADE (*R A Venniker) was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of GOLD INDEX (S Moodley) at the 800m.
d)	HIS MASTER'S VOICE (T Gumede) was hanging in from the 400m.
e)	KODIAK ISLAND (C F Dicken) raced green.
f)	Apprentice R A Venniker (CASH CRUSADE) and Jockey A Arries (GIANTS CASTLE) reported that they felt something amiss with their respective mounts in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
g)	GOLD INDEX (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M Miller advised (NS).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	Apprentice S Hlengwa (claiming 2.5kg) was the rider of SUPER FAST (advised 21.02.23/09h39).
b)	Jockey T Gumede was the rider of HIS MASTER'S VOICE (advised 22.02.23/07h37).
c)	GIANTS CASTLE raced equipped with blinkers (advised 22.02.23/08h12).
