Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JACKSONVILLE (R Khathi) kicked and was fractious loading. b) PINEAPPLE EXPRESS (B Fayd'Herbe) jumped outwards and made contact with SAGE KING (A Marcus). c) GLOBAL FORESTS (M Winnaar) jumped inwards and carried QUESTION THE STARS (J Jacobs) inwards which in turn bumped SAGE KING (A Marcus). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) BILLIONAIRE (L Mxothwa) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a handler, causing a delay. Trainer B Crawford was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended. b) GALACTIC PATH (K Steyn) reared, broke through the front gates, dislodged the rider, went through the inside running rail and bolted, was then taken in hand, examined by the course veterinary surgeon and withdrawn, causing a further lengthy delay. c) In view of the report from the starter regarding JACKSONVILLE (R Khathi), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 18/01/2022 to 24/01/2022 inclusive). JACKSONVILLE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. d) In view of the report from the starter regarding GALACTIC PATH (K Steyn), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 18/01/2022 to 24/01/2022 inclusive). GALACTIC PATH may not be presented for re-passing during this period. e) SAGE KING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
