THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	NAZARE (G Lerena) was stubborn loading.
b)	STORM DOMINATOR (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
c)	CIRCUS LIGHTS (*K A Brewer)	stood losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised (GT).	
d)	BIG FIVE (J P van der Merwe) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, HAZLO GRANDE (*P Mxoli) was bumped by STORM DOMINATOR (K Matsunyane), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.		
b)	CIRCUS LIGHTS (*K A Brewer)	stood losing many lengths and as a consequence of being unable to make up the deficit, raced detached from the field throughout.
c)	Jockey K Matsunyane, the rider of STORM DOMINATOR, accidentally dropped his crop at the 200m.
d)	Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with BIG FIVE in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 		
e)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to CIRCUS LIGHTS, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable jumping with a companion. 
Suspension dates: 23 February 2023 to 1 March 2023.  CIRCUS LIGHTS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee H Chauque, acting on behalf of Trainer G J Maroun, was advised. 	  	
f)	STRATOSPHERIC (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MduP).

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a)	STRATOSPHERIC was ridden by Jockey D Schwarz (declared 21 February 2023 at 11H24).
b)	CIRCUS LIGHTS was ridden by Apprentice K A Brewer (declared 22 February 2023 at 08H33).
