THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CELTIC RUSH (G Pieterse) was stubborn loading and thereafter restless in the stalls. Trainer D Nieuwenhuizen was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) MANZ KNIGHT (*P Mxoli) was slow losing one length. c) CHASIN (R Munger) was slow into stride. d) BREEZE OVER (J P van der Merwe) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) AFRICAN DUKE (D De Gouveia), which raced wide and without cover on debut, commenced to give ground to the field from the 600m. b) CELTIC RUSH (G Pieterse) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. c) Jockey R Danielson, the rider of QUANTIFIER, accidentally dropped his crop shortly before the finish line. d) BREEZE OVER (J P van der Merwe), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
