Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	DIESEL AND DUST (G Pieterse) proved unruly and refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (GT). 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 600m, TAMARISK TREE (G Lerena) and DESTINY OF SOULS (K Matsunyane) came together and bumped when carried out by STORMY WINTER (*K A Brewer), which switched out to avoid running onto the heels of WHISPERS OF WAR (AUS) (D De Gouveia), which rolled out marginally. 
b)	At approximately the 500m, TABEBUIA (R Danielson) took an awkward stride and commenced to hang in. Thereafter, Jockey R Danielson reported that he felt something amiss with TABEBUIA in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 	
c)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to DIESEL AND DUST, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading with a companion on two consecutive race days. 
Suspension dates: 23 February 2023 to 1 March 2023.  DIESEL AND DUST may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised.  
d)	DESTINY OF SOULS (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.	Trainer M F de Kock was advised (MduP).
