THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOVE IS A ROSE (G Lerena) and GOLD POKER GAME (A Domeyer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey P Strydom reported that BUTTERFLY BEAUTY made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that LOVE IS A ROSE raced with its tongue over the bit, was hanging out in the straight and proved difficult to ride. c) SAARTJIE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
