THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN'S RANSOM (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 300m GIMME DAT (G van Niekerk) had to be steadied for a number of strides when tightened for galloping room between the inside running rail and CAPTAIN'S RANSOM (R Fourie), which shifted in slightly and was immediately straightened. b) In view of the performance of SANTA MARIA (A Domeyer), the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) LIVE MY LIFE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
