THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GEM KING (G van Niekerk) stood in the stalls as the start was effected, losing three lengths. 
b)	FUTURE PRINCE (K Matsunyane) jumped outwards.
c)	IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA (S Veale) and HOEDSPRUIT (D Ashby) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	PACAYA (JP van der Merwe) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be assisted by a Handler, causing a delay. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised that should this gelding behave in a similar manner in future engagements, he may be suspended.
b)	PACAYA (JP van der Merwe) had difficulty securing clear running until approaching the 100m. 
c)	An Inquiry will be opened into Jockey J Solomons (QUASIFORSURE) riding in the concluding stages.
d)	The Stewards requested the veterinary surgeon to examine QUASIFORSURE (J Solomons).
e)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding GEM KING (G van Niekerk), Trainer ELP Steyn will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f)	PACAYA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (CvA)
