THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BOWIE (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised to re-school this gelding. b) AFRICAN SKYLINE (A Mgudlwa) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 600m HAWKER TYPHOON (T Gumede) was steadied when racing in restricted room between BOWIE (S Moodley) and PASSAGE OF POWER (J Gates). b) At the 300m HAWKER TYPHOON (T Gumede) was switched to the inside of SIKHULU (S Veale) to obtain a clear run. Thereafter, at the 150m this mare was switched to the outside of AFRICAN SKYLINE (A Mgudlwa) to obtain a clear run. c) Jockey L Tarentaal reported that IT'S ABOUT TIME took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) AFRICAN SKYLINE (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer M Clarke acting on behalf of Trainer G B Puller advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey T Gumede was the rider of HAWKER TYPHOON (advised 26.02.23/10h34). b) PASSAGE OF POWER raced with a cornell collar (advised 20.06.22).
