THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PIKE PLACE (Wes Marwing), RABOBI (*M K Katjedi) and PUNTA ALTA (*P Mxoli) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Apprentice K A Brewer reported that he felt something amiss with MAGIC LINK in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MAGIC LINK, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer W C Marwing was advised. c) AUSSENKEHR (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter advised (MduP).
