THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	WILLIAM ROBERTSON (M van Rensburg) jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls.	
b)	VAL D'ORCIA (C Maujean) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, ASTRIX (*S Sosibo), VAL D'ORCIA (C Maujean), FULL VELOCITY (G Lerena) and LUCY IN THE SKY (N Klink) suffered varying degrees of interference on the inside of WILLIAM ROBERTSON (M van Rensburg), which jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls. 
b)	Jockey K de Melo reported that SPRINKLES changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 	
c)	WILLIAM ROBERTSON (M van Rensburg), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Spies advised (MduP).

a)	VAL D'ORCIA was ridden by Jockey C Maujean	(declared 26 February 2023 at 07H47).
