THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LET'S CRUISE (*P Mxoli) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 300m, LET'S CRUISE (*P Mxoli) was brushed in by PERMESSO AVANTI (K de Melo), which commenced to hang in and was straightened. Thereafter, approaching the 200m, PERMESSO AVANTI (K de Melo), which continued to hang in, and LET'S CRUISE (*P Mxoli) had to steady when awkwardly placed between GOLDEN ASPEN (M van Rensburg) and ALABAMA ANNA (K Matsunyane), which rolled in, b) Jockey K de Melo (PERMESSO AVANTI) was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 in that he weighed back in, in excess of 1kg over the weight at which he was declared out at. Jockey K de Melo signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1500. c) MIDNIGHT GEM (D Schwarz), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P P Labuschagne advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) AGA HEAT: Jockey R Danielson weighed out at 56kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
