THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN MORISCO (K Steyn) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 200m CAPTAIN MORISCO (K Steyn) was carried out marginally by FOREST SPY (JP van der Merwe), which was hanging out. b) At the 200m the shock-absorbing material covering the shaft of Jockey R Fourie's (CELTILLUS) crop came adrift. Thereafter, Jockey R Fourie elected not to use his crop for the remainder of the race. c) In view of the performance of CELTILLUS (R Fourie) (Betting 5/2 ; Distance 6.35) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) Jockey R Munger reported that PARIS RIX changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) GREENLIGHTTOHEAVEN, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised.
