Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RIMAAH (T Gould) was stubborn loading. b) EASY LIVING (S Khumalo) and DOUBLE DESTINY (R Fourie) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 300m STRAWBERRY LIGHT (R Munger) had to be steadied and directed inwards to avoid the heels of HAZY CRAZY NIGHT (X Ndlovu), which shifted out. Thereafter, HAZY CRAZY NIGHT (X Ndlovu) continued to shift out without correction and bumped EKORIA (JP van der Merwe) at the 200m. Jockey X Ndlovu was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of HAZY CRAZY NIGHT he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to STRAWBERRY LIGHT leaving the 300m and EKORIA at the 200m. Jockey X Ndlovu signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 04/03/2023 to 10/03/2023 both dates inclusive) b) The saddle on ROSA DOURADA (L Mxothwa) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. Thereafter, Jockey Mxothwa reported that this filly felt uncomfortable in her action. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine ROSA DOURADA. c) Jockey R Fourie reported that DOUBLE DESTINY did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) EKORIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
