THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MISS GREENLIGHT (L Mxothwa), QUEEN OF SPARTA (J Solomons) and MULBERRY STREET (K Steyn) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	In view of the performance of MULBERRY STREET (K Steyn), which proved difficult to settle in the early stages and raced awkwardly on the bend, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
b)	Leaving the 1000m SHANTASTIC (K de Melo) had to be steadied away from the heels of OSCAR'S WINNER (R Munger).
c)	FLYING FIRST (S Veale) raced wide without cover on the bend and into the straight.
d)	Leaving the 300m DISTINCTION (JP van der Merwe) had to be steadied when unable to secure clear running between HUNTING TRIP (C Orffer) and HEAR MY VOICE (D Ashby), both of which shifted ground marginally. Shortly thereafter, HUNTING TRIP (C Orffer) and HEAR MY VOICE (D Ashby) brushed.
e)	QUEEN OF SPARTA (J Solomons) raced in restricted galloping room on the inside of DISTINCTION (JP van der Merwe) at the finish.
f)	SHANTASTIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DM Kannemeyer was advised. (SC)
