THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PENDERGRASS (*D B Geerthsen) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) JERUSALEMA RAIN (R Munger) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 200m, GUY GIBSON (R Danielson), which was baulked for a clear run from the 400m, was directed inwards and simultaneously carried inwards by ENCHANTING LADY (G Lerena), which rolled in. This incident led to a tiring KING RAHUL (M van Rensburg) being taken back momentarily as well as WINTER PATH (*S Sosibo) having to steady to avoid the heels of GUY GIBSON (R Danielson). b) GUY GIBSON (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Magner advised (MduP). c) PENDERGRASS (*D B Geerthsen), unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Binda advised (MB). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CALA MURETTA was ridden by Jockey J Mariba (declared 9 March 2023 at 07H04). b) ZIYASHA was ridden by Jockey J P van der Merwe (declared 9 March 2023 at 12H58).
