THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AMERICAN LANDING (T Gould) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being dislodged while proceeding to the start in Race 1, Jockey S Khathi was examined by the course medical officer and cleared fit to ride. b) Leaving the 200m Jockey T Gould (AMERICAN LANDING) hesitated with his riding when awkwardly placed between PEACE IN OUR WORLD (JP van der Merwe) and JACOB'S LADDER (L Mxothwa), which was hanging in. c) Jockey S Khathi reported that ASSURED did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) BARAK, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
