THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CRUIZIN CALIFORNIA (J Jacobs) was fractious in the stalls. b) THRILLA (K Steyn) was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After being dislodged in Race 2, Jockey J Jacobs was examined by the course medical officer and passed fit to continue riding. b) JEWLRAY (K Matsunyane) raced wide without cover in the early stages and was allowed to improve around runners from the 1000m and into a handy position. c) Jockey J Jacobs reported that he felt something amiss with CRUIZIN CALIFORNIA. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) The saddle on SENHORA VICTORIA (O Noach) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by a Stipendiary Steward. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CRUIZIN CALIFORNIA (J Jacobs), Trainer VH Marshall will be advised to have this filly re-schooled before her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) SENHORA VICTORIA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GR Puller was advised.
