Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLACK BURNER (+C Mabaya) and SOUND OF HOUNDS (+S Mosia) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) ORGETORIX (+S Myendeki) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 200m, SOUND OF HOUNDS (+S Mosia) was switched in to avoid running onto the heels of JP TWO THOUSAND (+P Mongqawa) which commenced to hang out from the 250m. b) Workrider T Mayhew, the rider of BEVOETERD, appeared before the Board, was shown the patrol films of the race and advised against the practice of looking around unnecessarily in races. c) The saddle on REBELS GATE slipped back in running. This was confirmed by an Official. d) SOUND OF HOUNDS (+S Mosia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee P de Palma advised (AH). WORKRIDER CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BEVOETERD raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 13 January 2022 at 13H27). b) TRUST THE FIRE raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 12 January 2022 at 08H22) and raced fitted with a compression mask (declared 13 January 2022 at 13H27). c) JP TWO THOUSAND raced equipped with blinkers (declared 20 January 2022 at 06H29). d) SOUND OF HOUNDS raced without blinkers (declared 20 January 2022 at 08H30). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) BLACK BURNER abnormal respiratory noise. b) GONE IN TIME fatigued. c) ROYAL WHY LEE fatigued. d) SOUND OF HOUNDS brush wound right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
