THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, THE GREAT ROMANTIC (+X Ngcobo) broke open the front gate. b) MADDY BLUE (+T Baase) was slow into stride. c) RA'ED (+R Hendriks) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. d) CORAPI (+P Mongqawa) stumbled leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GREAT MELODY (+S Mosia) took an awkward stride at the 1200m. b) Workrider X Ngcobo reported that he felt something amiss with THE GREAT ROMANTIC in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 600m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Workrider T Baase reported that MADDY BLUE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) In view of the performance of SOWETO SPINA (+T Matsoele), (betting 28/10, distance 17,00 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) CORAPI (+P Mongqawa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
