THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ROSY LEMON (D Schwarz) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, ROYAL MAZARIN (S Khumalo) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of FUTUREWOLFF (G Lerena), which shifted out marginally away from the crop. Thereafter, in the concluding stages, ROYAL MAZARIN (S Khumalo), which shifted out away from the crop, was steadied and directed inwards to avoid running onto the heels of FUTUREWOLFF (G Lerena). An Objection was lodged by Trainer J A Soma, on behalf of the second placed horse, ROYAL MAZARIN (S Khumalo), against the winner, FUTUREWOLFF (G Lerena), on the grounds of interference and taking up running in the concluding stages. The Board, after giving regard to the evidence presented by the relevant parties, was of the opinion that this incident had in no way affected the result of the race and therefore overruled the Objection and allowed the Judges result to stand. The Objection Board was further of the opinion that the objection was unwarranted and had no prospects of success and therefore declared the objection fee forfeit. W b) Jockey D Schwarz reported that ROSY LEMON made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) FUTUREWOLFF (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) JET DYNASTY was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 25 March 2023 at 15H58). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) JET DYNASTY raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 24 March 2023 at 06H40). b) ROSY LEMON raced without a tongue tie (declared 25 March 2023 at 07H34). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) ROSY LEMON examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) ROYAL MAZARIN abnormal respiratory noise.
