Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CAPTAIN CORRUPT (R Khathi) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) UNCLE LUCKY (S Moodley) was buffeted between MADISON BLUES (K de Melo) and CAPTAIN CORRUPT (R Khathi) leaving the starting stalls. Shortly thereafter, UNCLE LUCKY (S Moodley) had to be steadied when racing in restricted galloping room between MADISON BLUES (K de Melo) and CAPTAIN CORRUPT (R Khathi). b) MAJESTIC REIGN (T Godden) was hanging out from the 400m. c) Leaving the 150m, CAPTAIN CORRUPT (R Khathi) was carried out by MADISON BLUES (K de Melo), which shifted out. Shortly thereafter CAPTAIN CORRUPT (R Khathi) shifted in abruptly away from PARIS RAIN (M V'Rensburg) and made contact with MADISON BLUES (K de Melo) which continued to roll out. A race review was called by a Stipendiary Steward into this incident. After reviewing the video evidence and considering the above report, no further action was taken. d) Jockey M V'Rensburg reported that PARIS RAIN which was hanging out and had to be straightened on a number of occasions from the 300m, felt uncomfortable in its action. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss with DU CANE in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) CAPTAIN CORRUPT (R Khathi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) PARIS RAIN : Abnormal respiratory noise. b) DU CANE : Nothing obvious detected. c) UNCLE LUCKY : Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
