Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TWICE GOLDEN (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 2000m, TOM BOMBADIL (*M K Katjedi) was steadied off the heels of SEA MASTER (A Mgudlwa) which rolled in. b) Leaving the 300m, ARVERNI KING (M V'Rensburg) rolled out away from SYX HOTFIX (K de Melo) and brushed TWICE GOLDEN (*S Hlengwa). Thereafter, at the 200m ARVERNI KING (M V'Rensburg) had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between TWICE GOLDEN (*S Hlengwa) and SYX HOTFIX (K de Melo) which shifted out suddenly away from the crop and was immediately straightened. In this incident SYX HOTFIX (K de Melo) was turned and became unbalanced. c) SEA MASTER (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) SEA MASTER raced equipped with pacifiers and ear- muffs, without blinkers (advised 24.03.23/19h45). b) Jockey M V'Rensburg (ARVERNI KING) weighed out at 53kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) No reports. SCRATCHINGS : a) PAPA C : Elevated temperature (Trainer - 26.03.23/07h16). Rule 53.5 applies.
