THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LESLIES PATHTOFAME (S Moodley) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) QUICK STAR (M V'Rensburg) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1100m GLOBAL SECRET (*S Hlengwa) had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between LOU LOU THE LEGEND (K de Melo) and AGRESSIVO (S Veale). b) In view of the performance of LESLIES PATHTOFAME (S Moodley) (9.70 lengths, 17/2 in the betting), which pulled hard in the early stages and tired in the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) Trainer L W Goosen signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented QUIZ MASTER in the parade ring incorrectly equipped. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. d) An inquiry will be opened into Jockey S Veale's (AGRESSIVO) crop use in this race. e) QUIZ MASTER (J Gates), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen advised (NS).
