THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAND BANK (JP van der Merwe) was nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 600m BOLD RESOLVE (R Fourie) was held up for a number of strides behind TARANTINO (R Munger), which commenced to give ground to the field quickly. Shortly thereafter, BOLD RESOLVE (R Fourie) was switched to the outside of TARANTINO (R Munger) and into clear running. In view of this report the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine TARANTINO (R Munger). b) CAPTAIN MORISCO, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
