Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) TIME TO THE MOON (+T Ncume) was stubborn loading. b) SEVERIDE (+P Mongqawa) jumped inwards sharply leaving the stalls. c) SILVER TUDOR (+S Mkhumbuzi) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. d) NIGHT VIBE (+B Cossa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, SEVERIDE (+P Mongqawa), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, became unbalanced after making contact with NIGHT VIBE (+B Cossa), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) Shortly after the start, ROYAL RAPHAEL (+A Feni) was carried in marginally by I'M A MAN (+S Mosia), which in turn was brushed in by SILVER TUDOR (+S Mkhumbuzi), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) Work Rider P Mongqawa, the rider of SEVERIDE, made an adjustment to his goggles approaching the 400m. d) Work Rider S Mosia reported that I'M A MAN did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) TIME TO THE MOON (+T Ncume), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer W Marwing, acting on behalf of Trainer W H Marwing, was advised (LK). WORK RIDER CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) BLYDE RIVER raced equipped with blinkers (declared April 2023 at 08H53). b) I'M A MAN raced with club colours (black with a blue cap). Trainer A P Peter was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have available the registered colours of the owner/s of the horse I'M A MAN. Trainer A P Peter signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R250 was imposed. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) I'M A MAN examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
