THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	SUGAR BLAST (M van Rensburg) was restless in the stalls.
b)	BOM BOM (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
c)	HOTARUBI (*S Sosibo) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	As the start was effected, HOTARUBI (*S Sosibo) was bumped out by BOM BOM (G Lerena), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	PURPLE PITCHER (M Yeni) stumbled shortly after the start.	
c)	At approximately the 1100m, KEIRAS RANGER (J Greyling) was steadied outwards to avoid running onto the heels of BATTLE OF KURSK (*D B Geerthsen), which commenced to over-race, shifted out, ran onto and clipped the heels of TENSTAR (K Matsunyane).
d)	Leaving the 600m, BOM BOM (G Lerena) was brushed in on two occasions by NO PLACE LIKE HOME (C Zackey), which was directed inwards to avoid running onto the heels of BROTHERHOODOFMAGIC (S Khumalo). Thereafter, NO PLACE LIKE HOME (C Zackey), which was bumped out by BOM BOM (G Lerena), had to ease to avoid the heels of BROTHERHOODOFMAGIC (S Khumalo).
e)	Jockey	K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with TENSTAR in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.	
f)	BOM BOM (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
