THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRE PHOENIX (*M K Katjedi) lost 1 length. b) Shortly after the start CAPTAIN MARVEL (J Gates) and MIA SOPHIA (R Fourie) came together and brushed and ZULULANGA (D Schwarz) and DADDY'S JET (R Khathi) came together and brushed. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ZULULANGA (D Schwarz) was hanging in from the 400m. b) At approximately the 200m Jockey R Fourie felt something amiss with MIA SOPHIA and eased this filly out of the race. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning MIA SOPHIA, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer W Whitehead was advised. Suspension dates (10.04.23 - 07.08.2023 bdi). d) CAPTAIN MARVEL (J Gates) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. e) IM THE BUZZ (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
