THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LORD EDWARD (*R A Venniker) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PROSPER'S GIFT (M Yeni) and LIFE GOES ON (C Maujean) were squeezed out shortly after the start. b) Jockey M V'Rensburg (QUICK STAR) accidentally dropped his crop approaching the 50m. c) In the concluding stages PROSPER'S GIFT (M Yeni) was eased off the heels of MCCARTNEY (B Jacobson) which was hanging out from the 300m, and shifted out away from the crop. Jockey B Jacobson signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of MCCARTNEY, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PROSPER'S GIFT (M Yeni) in the concluding stages. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension in riding in races for 7 days was imposed (dates to be advised). d) Trainer M J Odendaal signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he did not have the owner's colours available for QUICK STAR. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed. e) WHITE CEDAR (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G I Rich advised (NS).
