THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRIMROSE PATH (+S Mkhumbuzi) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) LINDA'S LEGACY (+A Feni) was slow losing three lengths. Trainer C J Lensley was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). c) LADY ZULTANITE (+T Ncume) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The saddle on GRACIOUS ROCK slipped back in running, this precluded Work Rider S B Mthembu from riding this filly out to the end of the race. The saddle slip was confirmed by an Official. b) Work Rider I Lukhele reported that GREENLIGHTRANGER did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Work Rider T Matsoele signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that he failed to ride the horse CHROME TOURMALINE out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Work Rider T Matsoele signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in one (1) Work Rider race. Suspension date: 11 May 2023. d) LADY ZULTANITE (+T Ncume), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D N Stenger advised (MduP). When questioned regarding the improved performance of LADY ZULTANITE, Trainer D N Stenger explained to the Board that the drop in distance had accounted for this filly's improved run. She has undertaken to race the filly over similar distances in future. WORK RIDER CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GREENLIGHTRANGER not striding out right front. b) HEARTLIGHT mouth injury. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
