Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MANZ KNIGHT (+S Myendeki) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) VOLTE FACE (+N Ngqwangi) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls and thereafter was slow losing two lengths. c) ALL BLACK CAPTAIN (+S B Mthembu) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 1000m, MANZ KNIGHT (+S Myendeki) was carried out by TURNTHEBEATAROUND (+C Mabaya), which was directed outwards to avoid the heels of DESERT FOX (+I Lukhele). As a consequence of this, MANZ KNIGHT (+S Myendeki) raced wide around the turn and into the straight, resulting in this colt racing in isolation on the outside of the field. b) At approximately the 600m, TURNTHEBEATAROUND (+C Mabaya) was directed inwards to obtain a clear run. c) Leaving the 500m, ALL BLACK CAPTAIN (+S B Mthembu), which had come to the end of its run, had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the outside of NGOKUSHESHA (+W van Staden) and on the heels of WONDERWORLD (+T Matsoele). d) MAMBO COME TESIO (+A Feni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer W Masawi, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, was advised (MduP). WORK RIDER CHANGES: a) TURNTHEBEATAROUND: Work Rider C Mabaya weighed out at 57,3kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) VOLTE FACE raced equipped with alumites in front and steel shoes behind (declared 5 April 2023 at 13H21). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) NGOKUSHESHA coughing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
