Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CARBONADO (L Mxothwa) and HEARTSEASE (JP van der Merwe) were stubborn loading, causing a delay. b) DEFINITELY MAYBE (K Minnie) and ETERNITY RING (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) DAUGHTER OF ZEUS (R Fourie) raced with its head up and proved difficult to settle in the early stages. b) Jockey T Gould reported that CHLORIS did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding CARBONADO (L Mxothwa) and HEARTSEASE (JP van der Merwe), Trainers SB Kotzen and GD Smith respectively will be advised to have these fillies re-schooled prior to their next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) DAUGHTER OF ZEUS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (HK) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) S Khumalo (DAME OF FLAMES) rode +1kg (56.4kgs) The Stewards, in consultation with Trainer AC Greeff and acting in terms of Rule 59.9 allowed the overweight and due to the unavailability of the sweat box, the Stewards did not sanction Jockey S Khumalo) b) S Moodley (CHE VINCERA) rode +1.5kg of which 1kg was declared (53.6kgs) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHLORIS - examined post-race.
