Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RESPECTABLE MISS (K Minnie) was stubborn loading and thereafter slow into stride. b) BE HOPEFUL (S Khathi) was nervous in the stalls, jumped slow and thereafter refused to gallop. c) SHINING ARMOUR (K Steyn) was stubborn loading. d) MEENEERA (*RA Venniker) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regards to BE HOPEFUL (S Khathi) in stall gate 1 and established that, after being slow away, BE HOPEFUL (S Khathi) had turned around, refused to gallop and thereafter took no part. The Stewards were satisfied that this was as a result of BE HOPEFUL's (S Khathi) own behaviour and took no further action. b) NAME OF THE GAME (R Munger) was hanging in from the 500m. c) Approaching the 400m WINTERTIME (Y Ramzan) had to be steadied when tightened for galloping room between CAPE BOUQUET (JP van der Merwe) and GET IT DONE (S Moodley), which was hanging in and rolled in marginally. d) In view of the performance of RESPECTABLE MISS (K Minnie) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare. e) In view of the report from the starter regarding BE HOPEFUL (S Khathi), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 14 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 15/04/2023 to 28/04/2023 inclusive). BE HOPEFUL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. f) HEY SIRI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised.
