THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) SENSO UNICO (R Fourie) had difficulty in securing clear running between the 400m and 300m. Thereafter, leaving the 200m, this gelding was briefly tightened and steadied between PROPHET (M V'Rensburg) and FLYING BULL (S Khumalo). b) At the 200m PROPHET (M V'Rensburg) was eased for a number of strides off the heels of LORD WILLIAM (A Arries) which shifted out away from the crop. Jockey A Arries signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of LORD WILLIAM, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to PROPHET (M V'Rensburg) at the 200m. Accordingly a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed (Suspension dates to be advised). c) LORD WILLIAM (A Arries), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
