THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GRAZINGINTHEGRASS (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls, stood awkwardly and kicked the back gates.
b)	MHLABENI (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates.
c)	ABLUEAZURE (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Jockey X Ndlovu reported that ABLUEAZURE, which gave ground to the field quickly from the 600m and was not persevered with in the straight, took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	GRAZINGINTHEGRASS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer A Mtengwana, acting on behalf of Trainer AC Greeff, was advised. (SP)
