THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MRS BROWNING (K de Melo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of LAGUNA VERDE (C Zackey), (distance 3,05 lengths, betting 17/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) Jockey J P van der Merwe (DANCETILDAYLIGHT) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that DANCETILDAYLIGHT made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Trainer J J van Vuuren was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of DANCETILDAYLIGHT on return to stables c) BRAVE VIKING (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J A Soma advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) DANCETILDAYLIGHT was ridden by Jockey J P van der Merwe (declared 18 April 2023 at 09H41).
