THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GLOBAL BEAT (S Khathi) was stubborn loading
b)	UNCLE GEORGE (L Nhlapo) jumped awkwardly outwards.
c)	AT THE OPERA (K Minnie) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race.
b)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, UNCLE GEORGE (L Nhlapo) cast its right front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a further delay.
c)	CALLMEMRGREENLIGHT (Y Ramzan) proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
d)	AT THE OPERA (K Minnie) raced wide on the turn and into the straight.
e)	At the 50m UNCLE GEORGE (L Nhlapo) had to be steadied when close to the heels of IZUIZORIZUAINT (JP van der Merwe). 
f)	Jockeys S Khathi and R Fourie reported that GLOBAL BEAT and PICTURE THE MOMENT respectively did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
g)	In view of the report from the starter regarding GLOBAL BEAT (S Khathi), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to load with a companion. Suspension dates: 22/04/2023 to 28/04/2023 inclusive). GLOBAL BEAT may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
h)	FIERY DUKE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (HK)
