THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOING GLOBAL (N Qaule) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) BIG FIVE (S Khumalo) was slow losing five lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer J S Roux was advised (GT). c) KING'S EXPRESS (*P Mxoli) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, KING'S EXPRESS (*P Mxoli) was squeezed out between CASH SLIP (M van Rensburg) and MASTER OF DEFENSE (*K A Brewer), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) PONTIAC (G Lerena) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) ARCHIMIDES (M Yeni) hung out around the turn. d) MASTER OF DEFENSE (*K A Brewer) raced wide around the turn and into the straight. e) GOING GLOBAL (N Qaule) hung in from the 400m. f) CASH SLIP (M van Rensburg) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to BIG FIVE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a race day. Suspension dates: 26 April 2023 to 2 May 2023. BIG FIVE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer J S Roux was advised. h) PONTIAC (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee M Boya, acting on behalf of Trainer J J van Vuuren, was advised (LK). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None.
