Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KAMBULU (P Strydom) was restless in the stalls, thereafter this gelding jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. b) TIME TO MEDITATE (*K A Brewer) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ROYAL GUIDE (G Lerena) commenced to hang in from the 400m and then was directed out to take up a position on the outside of FREE MOVEMENT (M Yeni) at the 300m. Thereafter, approaching the 100m, ROYAL GUIDE (G Lerena), which shifted in away from the crop, was brushed outwards by FREE MOVEMENT (M Yeni), which rolled out slightly. b) FAST DUTY (D De Gouveia) and KAMBULU (P Strydom) over-raced in the early stages, resulting in these geldings racing with an awkward head carriage into and around the turn. c) Apprentice K A Brewer reported that TIME TO MEDITATE took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) MO THE MAN (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MS).
