THE STARTER REPORTED: a) POMP AND POWER (G Lerena) jumped outwards. b) GEM KING (C Zackey) and HOEDSPRUIT (K de Melo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ITSRAININGWILLIAM (G van Niekerk) was hanging out from the 300m. b) At the 250m GEM KING (C Zackey) had to be steadied when close to the heels of NATIVE TONGUE (C Orffer), which shifted out away from KING REGENT (L Mxothwa), which was hanging out from the 300m, shifted out and proved difficult to assist. c) WITHOUT QUESTION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
