THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOT ICE (M Yeni) and MILITARY MAN (S Khathi) were nervous in the stalls. b) SJAMBOK (X Ndlovu), WOLFRAM (K Minnie) and GREAT ECSTACY (L Nhlapo) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GREAT ECSTACY (L Nhlapo) was hanging in in the straight. b) At the 350m MOHANDAS (L Mxothwa) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. c) Jockey S Khathi reported that MILITARY MAN took no interest in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) In view of the performance of JACK RYAN (R Fourie) (Betting 4/1; Distance 8.5 lengths) the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) GREEN FALCON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis Trainer GD Smith was advised.
