THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	ALLOWAY GROVE (M Thackeray) jumped awkwardly.
b)	BOUQUET (K Minnie) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c)	RIDE THE LIGHTNING (M Yeni) and DREAM SCAPE (L Mxothwa) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	This race was started manually.
b)	Leaving the 800m ALLOWAY GROVE (M Thackeray), which raced with an awkward head carriage in the early stages, had to be steadied when racing in restricted galloping room between MISS UNITED STATES (J Gates) and FLUID MOTION (L Nhlapo).
c)	YAYA MARIA (K Steyn) raced wide on the turn and into the straight.
d)	At the 200m a tiring CAPE PRINCESS (*KA Brewer) rolled out and brushed TIME CHASER (R Fourie).
e)	Jockey R Fourie reported that TIME CHASER did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	Trainer K Mitchley was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that she presented RIDE THE LIGHTNING incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer K Mitchley signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00.
g)	GRUE OF ICE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis Trainer L Gila was advised. (SP)
