THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED MOUNTAIN (J Gates) kicked the back gates repeatedly, was removed from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and was subsequently withdrawn. b) JOHNNY THE THIEF (*S Hlengwa) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. c) RAF'S ROCKET (K de Melo) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At approximately the 100m CHAMPONELLE (*R A Venniker) which was hanging in from the 300m, had to steady momentarily to avoid running onto the heels of THE GOLDEN GOAL (C Zackey) which had come to the end of its run, and rolled inwards. b) SPLENDID FELLA (A Arries) was hanging in, in the concluding stages. c) LINKIN NAVIGATOR (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen acting on behalf of Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) COSMIC RHYTHM raced in club colours (Permission granted).
