THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HEART OF ETERNITY (G Lerena) was stubborn loading. b) TSITSIKAMMA PEARL (*S Sosibo) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) KIT KAT KATIE (D Schwarz) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. d) THE WORK OF LIFE (J R Syster) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, TREMENDITA (*P Mxoli) and HEART OF ETERNITY (G Lerena) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between TSITSIKAMMA PEARL (*S Sosibo) and KIT KAT KATIE (D Schwarz), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) LIEFDESONDEREINDE (N Klink) shifted out away from the crop from the 500m and thereafter hung in from the 200m. c) THE WORK OF LIFE (J R Syster) shifted out away from the crop from the 150m. d) In view of the performance of HEART OF ETERNITY (G Lerena), (distance 8,25 lengths, betting 2/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) AZUCAR (Wes Marwing), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W H Marwing advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) DAMOSTAR raced with a tongue tie on (declared 7 May 2023 at 08H38). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) HEART OF ETERNITY not striding out left front. b) COUNT YOUR CHANCES scalp wound left hind. c) KIT KAT KATIE mouth injury. SCRATCHED: a) SUMMER OF DREAMS refused to load on the float. Advised 7 May 2023 at 09H17.
